KRS HOME CARE

Driving a grassroots mentoring program

BUSINESS CASE

KRS Home Care has been voted leading providers of MVA Patient Care in the province of Ontario by GHP. They are located in the Greater Toronto Area but service all of Canada. KRS Home Care positively believes in the power of mentorship to unlock the full potential of its staff. They recognized the need to invest in the professional development of employees. And wanted to create a culture of continuous learning and provide support for career advancement.

The task at hand was to find an effective approach that would address their unique development needs and empower employees at all levels, for the long term. In an effort to foster growth, collaboration, and leadership, KRS implemented a comprehensive mentoring program in partnership with PMC that yielded remarkable results.

PROCESS & PROGRESS

The company worked closely with PMC who customized and launched a mentoring program for their team, keeping the demands of their home care work commitments in mind. PMC matched experienced mentors with individuals and carefully structured a framework with clear objectives.

Key elements of the PMC collaboration:

  • Robust Mentor-Mentee Matching: PMC conducted a thorough assessment to identify compatible mentor-mentee pairs based on skills, goals, and areas of expertise. This ensured meaningful connections and productive relationships.
  • Goal-Oriented Approach: Mentors and mentees collaborated to establish specific goals and actionable plans. This focus on goal-setting ensured that mentees were actively working towards tangible outcomes, fostering accountability and progress.
  • Ongoing Support and Resources: PMC provided comprehensive resources, including training materials, best practices, and regular check-ins, to support mentees throughout their mentoring journey. This allowed them to navigate challenges and maximize the impact of the partnership.
  • Celebration of Success: KRS Home Care regularly celebrated milestones and achievements, recognizing the valuable contributions of PMC mentors. This created a positive feedback loop, motivating participants and reinforcing the program’s value.

IMPACT

KRS Home Care was able to track significant progress pre- and post- the PMC arrangement. Survey results determined the following:

  • Increased Employee Engagement: KRS Home Care employee engagement surveys indicated a significant increase in engagement scores, reflecting a more motivated and committed workforce.
  • Enhanced Leadership Skills: Mentees who participated in the program demonstrated remarkable growth in their leadership skills and in their ability to inspire and influence others.
  • Improved Retention: A significant improvement in employee retention rates was recorded indicating that employees felt more supported and valued through their mentorship relationships.
  • Knowledge Sharing: The PMC program facilitated knowledge exchange across different teams and departments, resulting in improved collaboration and innovation.
